scientific washing / Delicate machine wash cycle Silk
IMPORTANT! Silk is a 100% natural bio-fiber consisting of proteins secreted from the silk glands of silkworm caterpillars when they spin cocoons. To preserve the unique properties, durability and exceptional beauty of natural fiber, it is necessary to follow the basic rules for caring for silk products.
- Silk is a protein whose composition is very similar to the epidermis of human skin, therefore, like your skin, silk does not tolerate hot water and alkaline substances contained in ordinary washing powders.
- Silk products can be washed by hand or machine, at a temperature of 30 °C , using special liquid detergents , ready-made conditioners, gels intended for silk and setting the mode "Silk" or "Delicate" washing.
- Hand washing silk products from the outside resembles a light game of hands: with one stroke we immerse the silk in not very soapy water, and after a few seconds we take it out, repeat the immersion and do this several times in a row.
- Sometimes silk slightly stains the water after washing. There is no reason to worry. To prevent fading, you can add 9% vinegar to cold water (at a rate of 2 tablespoons of vinegar per 10 liters of water) and rinse. This will remove any remaining alkali that is harmful to the fabric and fix the dye.
- Rinsing a silk item is also done extremely delicately: place the item in cold water, shake it slightly and remove it from the water.
- Do not use fabric softeners.
- Never wring out or tumble dry silk. Squeeze and hang the garment to allow any remaining water to drain.
- Do not dry silk in the sun.
· Iron silk from the reverse side, using the “silk” setting and steam.
